In our society there is an increasing interest in ‘green product development’.

Products made from fossil fuels (such as natural gas and oil) are polluting our environment, often because of CO2-emissions. Products made from plant or animal materials are, in contrast with these fossil products, much better for our climate. This transition from fossil to green is known as Biobased .
